Method 1: Run the Windows built-in troubleshooter
This troubleshooter automatically diagnose and repair common problems with devices and hardware.
1. Click on Start, search for Control Panel and click on it.
2. On the Control Panel window, search for Troubleshooting and click on Troubleshooting.
3. On the left pane, click View all.
4. In the list of options, click on Hardware and devices.
5. Click on Next and follow the on-screen instructions.
If the issue persist, proceed to method 2.
Method 2: Uninstall and reinstall Windows Fax and Scan
1. Go to the Control Panel and select Programs and features.
2. On the left side select Turn Windows Features on or off.

3. Scroll down to Print and Document services.
4. Select the plus sign to expand.
5. Remove the check from Windows FAX and Scan.
6. Select OK.
